Elegant Victorian cabinet bookcase consisting of tall bookcase section with three adjustable shelves enclosed by two equal glazed doors, flanked by beautiful carved bobbin pilasters and frieze cornice over.

Base cabinet with plinth base, two equal doors with moulded detail and planted half round top profiles to each flank,  original internal shelf no longer present (a suitable shelf will be sourced ahead of sale).

Mellow mahogany tones throughout compliment the tall slender architectural form of this piece which offers a generous volume of storage space for a relatively modest footprint.

This is a genuine antique item with signs of previous wear and tear including small scratches, indents, marks, patina from use. Exposure to sunlight over the years has lightened some panels mellowing the overall look of the piece. We believe that the bookcase section has been reduced in height at some point during its life, most probably to enable it to fit in a space with a lower ceiling height.

Historical repairs include repaired splits to side panels and strengthening to the the cornice on one side (it is always a good sign to note timely historical repairs). Tiny area of historic woodworm to the rear, no longer active but treated as a precaution. Small area of missing moulding to one cabinet door. 

Structurally sound, cleaned and polished throughout. Strong bookcase shelves with moulded edge. For ease of transportation the bookcase section is separate to the cabinet. No key is present.
