Commissioned to celebrating one of our most famous historical Faringdon town figures - Lord Berners (Gerald HughTyrwhitt-Wilson) 1883 - 1950.
High society socialite, eccentric, composer, novelist, artist and aesthete based here in Faringdon, South Oxfordshire.
Close friend of Salvador Dali, Cecil Beaton, Evelyn Waugh and the Mitford sisters. Lord Berners was at the epicentre of high fashion society, he would amaze his house visitors with doves and pigeons dyed in pastel shades.
The people of Faringdon have long since embraced such eccentricity and have adopted the pink pigeon as a symbol of the Town's colourful past and positive future.
