Promo poster for the acclaimed post-war movie which tells the true story of the RAF's 617 Squadron - The Dambusters. The film takes us from the inception of the bouncing bomb and the creation of the squadron to the actual mission of bombing the German dams during the second world war.
Michel Anderson’s much-loved, iconic British war time classic. The 1955 film depicts the tension and bravery of an audacious raid on the centre of Nazi Germany's industrial complex, and the quintessentially English combination of inventiveness and dogged determination.
The film deals initially with the time sensitive, fraught, but ultimately successful development of a new bomb, by Dr. Barnes N. Wallis aviation engineer based in East Yorkshire. The film re-enacts the details of the brave mission during the British raid on the Ruhr Dams, and its associated costs for the enemy and for the British airmen.
This striking original 1955 French issue film poster offers a genuine period cinema feel, colours are still true. Offered with fold creases, pin holes to corners, age related tears and losses.
