Substantial late 19thCentury Secretaire Abbatant most probably of Belgian origin.

This antique secretaire fall-front desk comprises of pine construction with hand painted and grained finish to exterior, raised on bun feet.

Four good sized full depth drawers and two false drawer fronts disguising the drop-front writing surface, drawer fronts include original gilded cast handles. Fitted desk compartment comprises of 8 small drawers and one full width drawer with pigeon hole section above. Drawer fronts are hand painted and grained to match exterior of the piece.

This substantial piece cleverly provides an incredible volume of storage and a personal workspace in a very modest footprint. Possible alternative uses include Tallboy dresser/Wellington Chest.

79cm wide, 51cm deep, 142cm tall.

The writing surface is 63cm wide x 40cm deep in the open position.
