Fabulous nineteenth century tole tea canister lamp, hand decorated with a gilded letter 'A’ presented in railways green livery.
Benefiting from its original stamped maker's mark plaque, Bartlett & Son of Bristol. A quality example of the late 19th century grocers tin tea canister from a period when highly valued blends of Tea were bought loose.
Bartlett & Son were respected makers of weighing machines and scales, based in Bristol and London. They expanded the company throughout the second half of the nineteenth century including the manufacture of japanned tole tea canisters, such as this fine example.
Wired to current electrical wiring convention, tested ahead of sale.
