A once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire a fabulous quality late 19thC/early 20thC Breakfront bookcase by one of Britains finest and most sought after furniture makers, Maple & Co.
Maple & Co was first established by John Maple in Surrey, who later opened a furniture shop in 1841 at 145 Tottenham Court Road. His son, John Maple grew Maple & Co to be a huge success, by the 1880s they were the largest furniture store in the world, they exported their fine antique furniture to many different countries and were well known throughout the fine interiors world. During the late19th and early 20th Century they had showrooms and workshops in London, Paris and Buenos Aires.
Consisting of freestanding Breakfront format including dragoon moulded edge top and plain frieze, 4 equal doors, two with astragal glazed pattern raised on fine quality ball and claw cabriole legs. Within the bookcase it includes its original height adjustable shelves. This bookcase benefits from its original keys and working locks.
This fine example is offered in clean and polished condition ready for immediate installation and use. Please anticipate fine marks, light scratches and marks consistent with careful previous use. Please review high resolution images for condition.
