Large format antique Victorian Scottish chest of 5 drawers in flame mahogany, flanked by the most superb barley twist pilasters.
An absolute credit to their previous owners through the decades and their original cabinet maker craftsmen, we strongly recommend this wonderful piece of antique bedroom furniture.
Comprising, profiled top with moulded edge, over two short drawers with serpentine profile front, beautifully turned drawer pull with mother of pearl insert and escutcheon, internally lined with original red paper.
Three long drawers with serpentine profile front, two premium turned drawer pulls with mother of pearl insert and escutcheon, internally lined with original red paper.
Drawers are flanked by the most incredible, premium quality,  barley twist pilasters with turned detail top and bottom, raised on substantial turned feet.
To the rear of the chest the original makers stamp can still be seen
Thanks to the careful use and thoughtful care from its previous owners, the natural ageing process has been kind to this piece. It still projects the contrasting, warm, mid-tone mahogany hues from the flame mahogany. 
This grand piece will sit well with darker or lighter furniture wood tones.
