2005 publication, Enigma: the battle for the code by Hugh Sebag-Montefiore.

Published by The Folio Society London, 2005

This book explodes the myths and propaganda and explores in detail the true facts behind the Enigma machine. The story starts pre WW2, as early as 1931 Enigma manuals were handed to the French Secret Service by Hans Thilo Schmidt. Whilst the sterling work of Bletchley Park code breakers played a vital part in unraveling the secrets of the machine, this was only possible thanks to the work of many other unsung heroes, spies and extraordinary people. A fascinating read!
