A really charming example, antique Victorian tripod table with inlaid chessboard / draughts  game top. It’s attractive time served patina and hardwood selection gives this piece incredible warmth and character.
Consisting of mixed hardwood composition, scroll tripod legs, attractively turned central column, plain frieze with bead detail, inlaid top incorporating chessboard pattern surrounded by finely inlaid perimeter repeat detail inlay pattern.
The top is hinged at the 2/3 point providing access to storage within for chess and draughts playing pieces.
This much loved piece has received timely historical repairs to the tripod base, the inlaid border has a few loses but nothing that detracts from the overall character of the piece.
