Sturdy construction throughout consisting of mid century pine tongue and groove outer, planted at 45 degrees. The t&g outer encases the earlier antique timber and ply frame within (most probably undertaken to give the chest a more contemporary appearance during the second half of the 20thC), 3 original drawers still present including sprung hinged flaps to hold down the leading edge of drawer contents and original pressed brass shell drawer pulls and various labels from previous use. The chest is raised on two slim profile rails. It would be possible to fix hairpin legs or bun feet if preferred.
Freshly painted cabinet presented in lightly distressed Little Green Portland Stone eggshell paint, cleaned throughout and waxed ready for its new owner.
Smooth running drawers ready for prints, drawings, charts, maps, artwork, etc.
At the time of listing we have three similar examples of the same size and construction. Our photographs were taken of the first plan chest to be refurbished.
