Truly great design can become timeless, that is certainly true of the Swan Chair a wonderful piece of Modernist/Danish modern furniture design by Arne Jacobsen in 1958. Originally designed as a piece of contract furniture for the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, it was manufactured by Danish furniture manufacturer Republic of Fritz Hansen. More than 60 years later and original versions have become the preserve of high rolling collectors. New versions from the original manufacturer retail for upwards of £3500.00. In more recent decades versions of the flowing organic design have been produced by selected furniture makers around the world capturing the essence of the original design. We offer two late 20thCentury Swan design style chairs, with no branding present, covered in red Danish wool fabric. These generously proportioned chairs comprise of an upholstered shell of organic rounded form, free of hard edges throughout, raised on a four point polished steel base. One chair is a fixed base and one chair has a swivel base. Both chairs have previously been used including feint marks to the fabric/signs of use, fine scratches to polished bases. 86cm tall x 75cm wide x 55cm deep. £520 for the pair. Competitively priced U.K. delivery can be arranged at separate cost. Delivery is not included. Checkout will mention delivery, this is not included within the price stated. Other items shown in our photographs are not included.
