George ll style walnut and burr walnut card table (circa 1940).

Rounded rectangular hinged top enclosing a blue baize playing surface.

Raised on lovely slender cabriole legs and pad feet.

The two leaves of the top are turned one half turn horizontally to reveal an internal compartment for storage of playing cards, pencils, etc. The two leaves can now be opened providing a support for the second leaf.

The action is smooth and tight as it should be. The card table is in good order throughout, the baize has some signs of shrinkage and burn holes but generally in decent order not requiring change at this interval.

This is not only a great little card table but also a handsome piece of freestanding furniture which would make a perfect lamp table/side table.

51cm x 36cm x 66cm
