We never cease to be amazed by the survival of relatively delicate penny toys from the 20s/30s/40s. These budget toys are cleverly conceived with the use of offset color lithography enabling fine detail and rich colours to be applied to sheets of tin plate quickly and economically. Made extensively in Germany by a number of prolific producers, shapes were machine-cut and stamped and then assembled by unskilled workers, often relying on cottage workers to achieve economic volumes. This example is in the form of one of the forerunner commercial airliners, it has no makers mark but is in the style of CKO Kellerman / Meier / Arnold. Litho print is in good condition throughout, three wheels are present along with central propeller. Some play related paint chips can be seen under magnifying glass inspection. A great authentic collectors display piece. Box framed for display and protection. Width - 10” Height - 10” Depth - 2” £96.00 including postage to U.K. zone 1 addresses. For postage costs to addresses outside U.K. zone 1 and overseas postage please enquire prior to placing your order.
